Newberry, SC - North Georgia College & State University allowed a goal in each half, dropping their first game of the season 2-0 at the hands of Barry University Sunday afternoon on the campus of Newberry College.
North Georgia (2-1-1) was held scoreless for the second time in as many games as Barry University (3-1) allowed just five shots by the Lady Saints.
Sarah Wolfer put the Bucs on the board in the first half as
Elanna Brady slipped a pass up the right side in the 16th minute
and Wolfer out-raced the defense for a one-on-one with keeper
Jessica English and beat her to the far post.
The game stayed 1-0 until the 84th minute when Michelle Tarasuik blasted a 35-yard shot into the upper right corner to give the Bucs a two goal advantage, a margin that would hold true through the remainder of the game.
Jessica English recorded three saves in the contest, but picked up her first loss of the season.
The Lady Saints will be back in action Friday, September 12, as they look to stay unbeaten at home, welcoming the University of Alabama-Huntsville to the Soccer Complex with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
