DAHLONEGA, GA - The North Georgia College & State University women's soccer program has announced the signing of eleven players to NCAA National Letters of Intent to play for the Lady Saints in 2011.
"With these 11 additions on the way, we have high expectations of building off last season," head coach Chris Adams said. "I believe this class will push to get on the field and provide us with the deepest team possible."
The Lady Saints put together a 14-5-1 record overall and a 7-3 mark in the Peach Belt Conference last season, setting program record for wins in a season with 14, and consecutive wins with 11. Head coach Chris Adams led North Georgia to their first-ever Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship game, falling 4-2 at the hands of 12th-ranked Columbus State.
"New players will mean a very competitive environment in training," Adams said. "I look for these 11 players to come in fit and poised to make their way on the field."
As a central midfielder for Coach Drew Bentley and Cobb FC, Taliaferro was voted team captain and helped lead the team to an Atlanta Cup Championship, as well as an Athena A Championship.
While at Harrison, coached by Steven Riccard, Taliaferro played a key role in the team advancing to the 2009 5A State Finals and a #20 National ranking by NSCAA, an ESPN Rise Magazine 2010 All-Area selection. Voted Team MVP by her teammates in 2009 and 2010, and selected first team All-County in 2009 and 2010.
Lamberth was instrumental in leading her Concorde Fire South team to the Georgia Athena A championship in 2010 under head coach Colin Barnes. She was key in the team's advancement to the Georgia State Cup semifinals the same year. Lamberth has played on the Varsity high school team for three years and assisted her Whitewater Wildcats in advancing to the AAAA State Championship game in 2009 and 2010 under head coach Heather Allen. She was also a member of the 1993 Georgia ODP State pool in 2006.
Lamberth will graduate with a 4.0 grade point average at Whitewater High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA).
Roles was a member of the 2008 Georgia ODP State Pool. She played soccer for UFA '93 Elite (formerly ASA Xtreme '93 Blue) under the direction of head coach Mark Bailey. In 2007, Roles helped lead ASA to win the 2007 President's Cup. In 2009 she was voted Best Offensive Player at her high school. She helped lead Northview High School to their first ever high school state playoff game in 2009, while leading the team to the Georgia High School 5A championship game in 2010.
She has been named to the Northview High School honor roll or Principal's Honor Roll each year since 2007 and is a member of the Northview Legion of Honor. She is a member of the National Honor Society of High School Scholars and is a member of the Northview Medical Society and Habitat for Humanity Club.
Salmon played with FC Sarasota and in 2010 made it to the Sweet 16 level of State Cup play. Salmon also played with the Brandon Flames and in 2010 were the Nike Cup Tournament Champions.
Salmon played at Lakewood Ranch High School where she was a four-year varsity letter winner. Her high school team made it to the Final Four of the State Championship in 2010 for the first time in school history. In the regional playoffs, Salmon scored the lone winning goal in a game which allowed her team to advance. As a senior, she was the co-captain of her team. She was named a Scholar Athlete each of her four years of high school.
Morrow attended Brookwood High School where she played for '93 GSA Phoenix Red-RPL team under head coach Campbell Chapman. A five-time Georgia State Champions and two-time R3PL Champions, Morrow was a four-time GA representative to Region III Championships. She was a 2007 State ODP pool. In 2009 she was a USYS Regional Finalist and Disney Soccer Showcase Champion.
Lee played for CFC Red Star under head coach Tony Frankovich where she was captain of the CFC Red Star team the last four years. She was voted MVP for CFC Red Star team in 2008, 2009, and 2010. In 2010 she had 13 goals and 36 assists. Lee attended Columbus High School under head coach Rusty Oliver. Columbus High School made the AAA quarterfinals in 2009 and the semifinals in 2008 and 2010. She was a member of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club and was on the Honor Role at Columbus High School.
Reeder helped her RSC Elite team towards State Championships in 2006 and State Finalist in 2007 and 2009. She attended Roswell High School, playing under head coach Lindsey Boyd. Reeder helped lead the team to Georgia High School 5A State Playoffs in 2008, while receiving the Coach's Award in 2010.
Croom played for Roswell Santos Elite, ranked #9 in Georgia under head coach Manny Sanchez. She was selected to Super-Y ODP National Team in 2009 while playing for Super-Y Alpharetta. The Super-Y team won the Group A of the South Atlantic Division. She was the team's top scorer. She attended St. Francis High School where she was a three year starter and leading goal scorer all three years. Croom graduated high school early and is currently enrolled in classes at North Georgia College and State University.
Trevino played with Athens Academy and Birmingham United. While at Athens Academy she accumulated 177 points (65 goals and 47 assists). She was a member of Georgia ODP from 2004-2007 and a member of Alabama ODP 2007-2009. Trevino was instrumental in helping the Birmingham United club to two Alabama State Championships, the Region III Premier League title, and CASL and Disney Showcase championships. She was captain of her high school team her senior year under head coach Matt Davenport.
As a freshman at Mississippi State she saw action in 11 matches. Tallied 205 minutes of on-field action and collected a pair of starts. Her first collegiate start was against Alabama, playing a season-high 46 minutes and firing a pair of shots. Her second start was against her home-state Georgia Bulldogs, playing 19 minutes. As a sophomore Trevino played in 9 games and played a total of 175 minutes. Trevino is currently enrolled in classes at North Georgia College and State University.
Fragnito comes to North Georgia with a great record behind her. Starting her sophomore season with breaking 2 school records for most shutouts, least amount of goals allowed in a season, and finished in the top 5 percent in Class AAA for goals-against average. Fragnito made all-region and all-county in the years of 2008, 2009, and 2010 and was also voted MVP and received the Coach's Award her junior year and was captain her senior year. Her school team won the region in 2008, 2009, and 2010. She played club for the CESA 92 Premier team and played in the Region III Premier League East as well as the Elite Clubs National League. Club team won the 2010 South Carolina State Cup and made it to the 2011 Regional's. She was also captain for her club team.
Meghan played club soccer at United Futbol Academy on the '93 Elite team ranked as high as #10 in Georgia. She played Super Y for the Atlanta Silverbacks and went to Nationals in 2007 and 2008, finishing both as semi-finalists. She lettered three years at Milton High School, helping her team make the Georgia State playoffs. Meghan showed her athletic versatility by playing goalkeeper and center back her sophomore year. She is a four year member of FCA, a two year member of the National Art Honor Society, and current member of the National Humane Society.
