DAHLONEGA, GA – Natalie Douglass of the North Georgia women's soccer team has been named Moe's Athlete of the Week.
Douglass scored two goals in the 4-0 dominating win over Clayton State last Tuesday in the opening round of the 2011 Peach Belt Conference Tournament. North Georgia moved on to the Final Four in Augusta before being knocked out by Columbus State on Friday evening.
Douglass' two goals against the Lakers gave her four on the year. The senior from Lawrenceville, Georgia, has started every game she has played this season for the Lady Saints. She picked up her only game-winner of the season against Clayton State, scoring her first goal in the 26th minute.
She added her second goal in the 42nd minute to give her Lady Saints a 3-0 lead. Douglass also added an assist in the final goal for North Georgia by Emily Dover.
The senior midfielder held her own against the Cougars on Friday, even though the Lady Saints fell 3-0. North Georgia now turns their attention to Wingate University on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Savannah, Georgia.
