Pair Of First Half Goals Highlight Women's Soccer Team's 2-0 PBC Victory Over Flagler

DAHLONEGA, Georgia – (UNGAthletics.com) – A pair of first half goals propelled the University of North Georgia to a 2-0 Peach Belt Conference victory over visiting Flagler College on Saturday at the UNG Soccer Complex.  Megan Morrow and Caroline Wallace each found the back of the net to help the surging Nighthawks to their second conference victory of the week.

Morrow's game-winning tally came just 4:24 into the game when the junior would bend a long shot from just outside the 18-yard box over FC keeper Casey Merson.  The goal was the defender's second of the season.

Wallace would tack on some insurance for UNG in the 27th minute when she would head home a Sydney Reeder free kick following a Saints foul just outside the box.  The score marked Wallace's sixth tally of the season.

North Georgia (11-3-1, 6-2-1 PBC) held a 15-4 positive margin in shots including an 8-2 advantage in shots on frame.  Mallory Sayre and Rachel Allred would split time in goal for North Georgia and combine for the team's sixth save of the season as each keeper would collect a single save on the day.

Merson would finish the day with six saves against the Nighthawks' eight targeted shots.  The loss drops Flagler to 5-9-2 overall and 1-6-2 in conference play.

North Georgia returns to action on October 30 when the team hosts Lander University in PBC action with kick off slated to start at 5:00 PM.
