45th-Ranked Jags Topple Lady Saints in PBC Play
AUGUSTA, GA – The North Georgia women's tennis team dropped their second match in as many days on Sunday afternoon, falling 9-0 to 45th-ranked Augusta State University at the Newman Tennis Center in Peach Belt Conference action.
The Lady Saints fall to 7-8 overall on the year and 2-6 in Peach Belt Conference action, while the Jaguars improve to 8-6 overall and 3-3 in league action.
North Georgia dropped all three points in doubles action, with the closest match coming at No. 2 where Victoria Lindqvist and Roberta Oliveira defeated Audrey Marlette and Juliana Chiang 8-5.
The Lady Saints were unable to claim a set in singles action, falling in straight sets in all six matches, but Stasa Vujosevic put up the biggest fight at No. 2 singles, falling 7-6 (7-2), 6-0 as Augusta State cruised to a 9-0 victory.
North Georgia returns to action on Saturday, March 26, welcoming Lander University to town for a Peach Belt Conference match. First serve at the Yahoola Creek Tennis Complex is set for 1:00 p.m.
