Lady Saints Weather Hurricanes for 7-2 Victory
DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia women's tennis team picked up wins in all three doubles matches on Saturday afternoon to run by Georgia Southwestern 7-2 at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex in Peach Belt Conference action.
The Lady Saints improve to 10-11 overall on the year and 3-9 in Peach Belt Conference action, while the Hurricanes fall to 12-10 overall and 2-9 in league play.
North Georgia won all three doubles matches in convincing fashion, winning 8-4, 8-2, and 8-6 respectively.
In singles play, Laura Chapman made quick work of Leady Cuellar 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Juliana Moscoso Chiang stifled Kalie Douberly 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Audrey Marlette captured a victory in straight sets at No. 4, while Jordan Poole picked up a win in three sets at No. 5 singles to give North Georgia a 7-2 victory.
The Lady Saints return to action on Wednesday afternoon, traveling to Carson-Newman College to take on the Eagles in non-conference action. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m.
