MISENHEIMER, NC – The North Georgia women's tennis team continued their strong early season play on Thursday afternoon taking down Pfeiffer 6-3 at the Knapp Tennis Center.
The Lady Saints (3-0) won their third straight contest while the Falcons (2-2) dropped their second straight home match.
North Georgia swept the doubles action for the second consecutive match and held on to win the last three singles matches to earn the 6-3 victory.
The tandem of Juliana Moscoco-Chiang and Natalia Escobar battled to an 8-6 victory over Alena Krutkina and Taylor Lindsay in No. 1 doubles action.
For the second straight day, Audrey Marlette and Jordan Poole had an easier go at No. 2 doubles, defeating Chelsl Haefele and Briana Oliver 8-1, while Nela Handac and Maria V Casseres Romero raced past Kayleigh Featherstone and Bailey Greene 8-0 in No. 3 doubles.
North Georgia split the singles matches losing at No. 1, 2, 3, and winning 4, 5, and 6.
The Lady Saints won all their of the singles matches in straight sets as Poole won her seesaw match at No. 4 singles 7-5, 6-4 taking down Haefele, while Handac cruised past Featherstone 6-0, 6-2.
Casseres V Romero was arguably the most impressive, not surrendering a game as she took down Greene 6-0, 6-0.
The Lady Saints return to the courts on Monday, February 13, when they travel to South Carolina to take on Newberry College.
