DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia women's tennis team dropped their second straight Peach Belt Conference match on Saturday afternoon falling 6-3 to Lander University at the North Georgia Tennis Complex.

The Lady Saints (6-11, 1-5 PBC) have now lost 10 of their last 11, while the Bearcats (9-8, 4-5 PBC) snapped a four-game losing streak with the win. 

The Bearcats got off to a quick start taking two of the three doubles contest. Juliana Moscoco-Chiang and Natalia Escobar won a marathon match at No. 1 doubles, while Nela Handac and Maria V Casseres Romero dropped a 9-7 heartbreaker at No. 3 doubles.

Moscoco-Chiang and Escobar rallied to win their match 9-8 (7-5) to put North Georgia in striking position heading into singles action. 

In singles action, Moscoco-Chiang won her match when her opponent retired half way through the first set, while Handac won at No. 5 singles 6-0, 7-6 (10-5).

The Lady Saints return to the courts on Sunday, April 1, when they host USC Aiken in Peach Belt Conference action. First serve is set for 1:00 pm.
