Nighthawk Tennis Teams Douse Flames For Second Win In Two Days

CLEVELAND, Tennessee – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia men's and women's tennis teams earned matching 8-1 road wins on Wednesday (Feb. 19) over Lee University at LU's DeVos Tennis Center. The Nighthawk programs were playing their second matches in as many days as both teams swept the doubles flights and never looked back.

On the women's side, North Georgia secured the team's fourth straight victory of the season by winning straight set matches in singles spots two through five.

Freshman Alexis Lee also earned a three set win at sixth singles winning a super-set tiebreaker 10-3 over Morgan Friedlander.

On the men' side, the match mirrored the women's event as the Nighthawks breezed out to a quick 3-0 lead by virtue of three quick doubles victories.

Lee was able to earn its point at second singles, but the Nighthawks sailed with straight set wins in all the remaining five singles matches.

The victory marks the fifth straight for the UNG men as the Nighthawks improve to a perfect 5-0 on the season.

North Georgia returns to action on Saturday, February 22 when both squads travel to Florence, S.C. to take on Francis Marion University in UNG's Peach Belt Conference opener.
