Women's Cross Country Finishes Third At West Georgia Invitational
CARROLLTON, Georgia – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia women's cross country team posted a strong third place finish out of eight schools on Saturday at the University of West Georgia Invitational. UNG's Maggie Tindol posted her fourth consecutive top-10 finish as she managed the 5K course in a time of 19:32 which was good for fourth out of 68 runners.
Teammate Emily Beusse was just six seconds off Tindol's pace and registered a time of 19:38 which was good for sixth place overall.
The Nighthawks team depth was pivotal as the remaining scorers were able to post top-20 finishes. Ellie Tanner (20:17, 13th), Caitlin Connell (20:39, 19th) and Alyssa Sale (20:48, 20th) all finished in the lead 20 runners.
Fellow Peach Belt member Clayton State earned team honors with 46 points followed closely by Union (Tenn.) University with 49. UNG's team score of 62 finished well ahead of host UWG (95) and Valdosta State (115).
Valdosta Juliana Boehm crossed the line first individually with a time of 19:22.
North Georgia will not race again until October 26 when the team heads to Americus, Ga. for the Peach Belt Conference Championship.
