DAHLONEGA, GA – First year head coach Tom

Following the Berry College Invitational, the Saints and Lady
Saints will stay in the state of Georgia for the next two weeks,
traveling to the University of Georgia on September 19, before
heading to Macon, Ga., for the Mercer Runfit Sports

North Georgia will then run a pair of races in the carolinas,

the National Championships in Evansville, Indiana, two weeks later
on November 21.
“I am excited about the upcoming season,” new head
coach Tom Williams said. “The 2009 Cross Country schedule
will provide an opportunity for both the Men and Women teams to
excell, and I am looking forward to a new committment to Cross
Country at North Georgia.”
Williams will take over a pair of programs that finished in the
top four in the Peach Belt Conference last season. The women
finished third at the annual PBC Championships, while the men
finished fourth in the league.
Williams will coach two PBC All-Conference performers in freshman
Katie Vance and junior Emmy Lawalin as the women’s team looks
to make a push to the front of the conference. A young men’s
team will look to build on late-season success last year and
continue to make strides to the front of the league.
