CARSON-NEWMAN COLLEGE (36-10)
The Carson-Newman College Eagles enter the 2010 NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid as the No. 5 seed in the Southeast Region after finishing the season at 36-10 overall. The Eagles were runner-up in the South Atlantic Conference regular season race and SAC Tournament Championship. Currently ranked No. 25 in the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll, C-N posted a 17-game winning streak during the season, and enter the Dahlonega Southeast Regional as winners in four of their last six games. Sara Little leads the Eagles at the plate with a .373 batting average, including nine home runs, 11 doubles, and 49 runs batted in. Mary Shealy and Ashley Boyd have slit time in the circle for head coach Vickee Kazee-Hollifield as the duo have combined to record 33 victories, 180 strikeouts, and 26 complete games, while both posting earned run averages under three.
