The North Georgia Saints enter the
2010 NCAA Tournament with an automatic bid from the Peach Belt
Conference, capturing their second straight regular season and
tournament championship. The Saints have been ranked atop the NFCA
Division II Poll in every regular season ranking this season and
are currently the only undefeated team in the country at 45-0. The
defending Southeast Regional and Super Regional Champions will look
to Sarah Phillips to lead the Saints as the junior hurler is 38-0
on the year with a 0.79 earned run average and 248 strikeouts in
247.0 innings of work. She leads the country in shutouts with 20,
blanking opponents in six straight games until the PBC tournament
title game. Seniors Leslee Smith and Laura Voyles are hitting .364
and .331 respectively with 11 home runs apiece, while freshman
Lauren Dykes leads the team with a .400 batting average.
