The Queens University of Charlotte Royals enter the 2010 NCAA Tournament with an automatic bid from the Conference Carolinas as the No. 8 seed after capturing their second straight tournament championship. At 26-23 on the season, the Royals are winners of four straight games, including a pair of nine-inning thrillers over Limestone to capture the Conference Carolinas tournament title and head to their second straight NCAA Southeast Regional. Queens is led by the speedy Keeya Turner who is hitting .327 with seven doubles, seven triples, and 21 stolen bases, while Chantel Dodge has done the job in the circle, logging a 2.41 earned run average with a 17-10 record. Fresh off being named the Conference Carolinas tournament most valuable player, Dodge has 188 strikeouts in 185.2 innings of work, while opponents are hitting .229 off the hurler.
