Flagler College enters the 2011 NCAA Tournament as at-large selection after finishing the regular season and the PBC Tournament with overall record of 40-16.
The 40 wins by the Saints are most in school history as the program is just in their 3rd year of existence. Flagler is currently No. 24 in the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll, and are one of just two teams nationally ranked from the Peach Belt Conference.
The Saints have 43 home runs on the season, including a team-leading 11 blasts from Alona Personius, who has also added 12 doubles and 42 runs batted in. Breezy Collings leads the team in batting average at .398, and has tallied seven doubles, eight home runs, and a team-leading 56 runs batted in.
As one of the most balanced pitching staffs in the country, Donna Munafo leads the club with a 1.20 earned run average, while Kalyn Loverich follows with a 1.57 ERA and a 13-5 record. Kelly Riddick has the most wins on the staff at 18-4 on the year, including a team-leading 122 strikeouts in 132.2 innings of work.
After becoming the first-ever softball coach in Flagler history in January of 2008, Kristen Overton has turned the Saints into an immediate national contender, including a 40-win season in 2011 and a handful of NFCA Top 25 rankings.
